While some artistic license has been employed for the purposes of entertainment; all of these stories are experiential, and based either on fact or local legend known to the family. At one time Saundra Kelley lived less than three miles from Tate’s Hell and she grew up hearing the legend. It was not until she got lost in that massive swamp while on a ramble, that she began to understand old Cebe Tate’s plight.
Currently a resident of Jonesborough, Tennessee, and a performing member of the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild, Kelley practices the ancient art of storytelling throughout the southeast. Kelley graduated from Florida State University, and earned an MA in education with a storytelling concentration from East Tennessee State University.

Saundra Kelley is available for storytelling to both adults and children; lectures and readings. She tells legends, personal stories, folk & fairytales and stories with an environmental leaf-green twist.
